Assembly is a new creative conference co-hosted by Color Club, Joy Machine and Lot’sa at their collective space at Elston and Hamlin in Chicago from May 20 to 23, 2027.
Assembly is a three-day conference for working artists and creative humans of all backgrounds. Designed to facilitate play and joy with a dash of the unexpected, the inaugural program includes hands-on art-making workshops with incredible guest artists, panel discussions with leading minds, lectures, and the opportunity to get your hands dirty and create with friends.
Participants will put down their phones, get unstuck, challenge their perspectives and add new tools to their creative arsenals. We’ll learn to make mistakes and remember what it’s like to play again–let’s unlock what’s next for you. In between scheduled events, there’ll be opportunities for socializing, field trips, snacks, collaborative making, a chill-out space for quiet reflection, and more.
Expect painting, ceramics, drawing, paper, collage, textiles and fiber, risograph, and much more. We believe that hope is resistance and that despite everything, we must create.
